Foklore
ensemble “Sokadija” from Krusevica, Croatia, deals
with the original folklore of Brodsko posavlje, part
of Croatia presenting the beauty and richness of
Slavonian songs and dances, habits and folk costumes.
The rich folk costumes shine their best
on our girls and ladies who wear them with pride. The
“šlingeraj”, embroidery and goldstiching, the
whiteness of “rubina” (the upper part of the
costume) and the rustling of silk speak with the most
beautiful words about themselves at the folklore
festivals where the Ensemble performs.
Krusevica is a village of the
municipality of Slavonski Samac in Brodsko-posavska
county. Krusevica is a small part of the wide
Slavonian mosaic where traditional way of life is
partly still going on - a place where bread sweetly
smells from the outside bread-stoves daily, a place
where plum brandy “sljivovica” with colour of
gold, announces a mighty snack of old Slavonian
“kulen”.
«Sokica»
is, in fact, the model of Slavonian nature. Her head is
in gold, in wheat ears, her shoulders in oak leaves, her
breasts in grapes of the vineyard, in her waist there is
a brook, rapids, from waist to toe she is a meadow full
of flowers.
